Replacing or Installing a New Air Conditioning System?
First consider problems that may be contributing to poor performance of your system.
Dirty Condenser Coils – Dirt and grime can accumulate and heat transfer is hampered, causing your unit to work harder, eventually leading to failure.
Low Refrigerant – If your unit develops a leak, the coolant must be replaced and the leak repaired, if possible, by a qualified technician.
Frozen Evaporator Coils – If the air flow is not working properly, the system can get too cold and a layer of ice will build up on the outside.
Thermostat Problems – Your thermostat may not be programmed correctly.
Clogged Drains – If drains get clogged, or over-filled, the water can back up and damage expensive electrical components of your system.
Fan Problems – If the fan is not working properly due to a faulty motor, lack of lubrication, worn belts or too much debris on coil, it can lead to compressor failure…a death sentence for your air-conditioner.
Considering the Change
Once we’ve worked with you to determine break-down issues, or the possibility of future break-downs, we can help you decide on what Lennox system will work best for you, your family and the size and needs of your home.
For example, the Lennox XC25 is the highest quality air conditioner produced by Lennox and part of the Ultimate Comfort System ™. It’s also compatible with the entire Dave Lennox Signature® Collection of equipment.
With its industry-leading efficiency of up to 26.00 SEER, the XC25 saves you hundreds of dollars each year in utility bills.
The XC25 works in tandem with solar roof modules in the SunSource® Home Energy System. This drastically cuts your utility bill, possibly making you eligible for a federal tax credit.
A bonus: It’s nearly silent.
For clean air, this system comes with an iFactory-installed MERV 16 Precision Pleat™ media filter that removes allergy-aggravating particles from the air in your home. MERV 16 is one of the highest rated filters available.
Excel Energy and CenterPoint Energy offer rebates to their customers. For example, a new, high-efficiency natural gas furnace with an ECM (Electronically Commutated fan Motor) offers savings for years to come. In some instances, Xcel rebates can be up to $500 and CenterPoint up to $400.
Need a New Heating System?
Now that it’s the end of winter, is your furnace or boiler showing signs of age? As a home or business owner, there are questions you need to consider when contemplating the pros and cons of upgrading to a new HVAC system.
What is the age of your present system? The average lifespan is from 15 to 20 years.
Take a look at your equipment for rust, cracks, water stains, and other signs of damage or wear. Listen for strange sounds that could indicate internal problems. Make a list of questions, then have your system evaluated by Abel Heating and Cooling. There could be less visible signs of excessive wear and potential breakdowns that only a professional will detect.
We recently posted a BLOG about Heat Exchangers and how a crack can spell the end for your equipment. Faulty electronics or valves can sometimes be repaired, but at what cost? Remember, for an older, less energy-efficient furnace, there is the high price of repair, or parts replacement.
Keep in mind that A New HVAC System Saves Money!
With Xcel Energy requesting MPUC (Minnesota Public Utilities Commission) for a three-year increase of 9.8 percent, or $297.1 million, this may be the right time for you to consider the savings you’ll receive by replacing your old HVAC system.
